
Woven pot made of salvaged materials
Description
Ce pot a été confectionné par une prisonnière d’un centre de détention à Byumba au Rwanda. La détenue en a fait un don à Louise Turley, déléguée du CICR à Kigali. Elle en a ensuite fait don au Musée en 1999.
Pour la réalisation de ce pot, qui porte l’écriture « Bonne santé », l’autrice a utilisé de la fibre des sacs CICR. L’usage de matériel de récupération est très commun dans la réalisation des objets de prisonniers et prisonnières de collection du MICR.
Le Musée international de la Croix-Rouge et du Croissant-Rouge est en possession de presque 500 objets réalisés par de personnes en situation de privation de liberté.
