Der Inhalt dieser Seite ist derzeit nicht auf Deutsch verfügbar.

MAH au Queerscope" is an event designed to stimulate reflection on the queer potential of museums and their collections, while offering a convivial moment around the works exhibited at the Musée d'art et d'histoire de Genève (MAH). Organized jointly by the MAH, the Agenda 21 - Ville durable department of the City of Geneva, the Lestime association, the Maison de l'histoire, Queercode and the Notre Histoire Compte collective, it is part of the "LGBTIQ+ History Month".

Speakers: Claire Mead (curator and performer), Pascal Hufschmid (director, ICRC museum), Isabelle Sentis (cultural project manager and member of Queer Code and the Notre Histoire Compte collective) and Sabine Utz (curator, Musée Cantonal d'Archéologie et d'Histoire, Vaud).

Moderated by Carolina Topini and Taline Garibian

The aim is to discuss ways of decentralizing the way we look at artworks, revisiting collections in the light of queer practices and (sub)cultures, and promoting the inclusion of LGBTIQ+ audiences.

  • From 6pm Afterwork

The evening will continue at 6pm with an Afterwork, a tried-and-tested format at the MAH, which sees the public take over the museum to the rhythm of different proposals - happening or speed dating with a work - put forward by guests and MAH mediators. The aim is to reveal the queer potential of the works and their resonance with local LGBTIQ+ culture and history, particularly lesbian, thanks to the documentary and archival work carried out by Lestime, Queer Code and the Notre Histoire compte collective. These cultural encounters will be accompanied by performances by Eugène Delacroissant, Catherine Gaillard and Klimte, and musical entertainment by DJ LAP - Animal Parlant.
